How to get there
Maun is the Safari Capital of Botswana and the perfect starting point for your adventure in the bush. There are daily flight connections from Johannesburg, Cape Town or Windhoek. Your Wild Expeditions Safaris tour guide will pick you up at Maun International Airport. We are happy to arrange pre- or post-safari accommodation in Maun.
When to come
Botswana can be visited all year around. During July and August it can get cold at night whereas in September and October you should expect hot temperatures. Rain seasons starts in late November and goes until March, which makes those months not ideal for a mobile (camping). However, there is nothing like witnessing that special when the first rains arrive in the country.
The Okavango Delta has two floating periods: one in June / July when the flood arrives from the Angola wetlands and the second one in December during the rain season. Our expeditions are adapted to the water levels and can therefore change throughout the year.
