01 / FIELD NOTES

Name every inclusion

Ask for a written list tied to the actual room or package you are considering. Accommodation, breakfast, other meals, guiding, game drives, boat excursions and transfers are distinct items. A property can arrange an activity without including it in the rate. Check which provider is responsible for each booked element.

02 / FIELD NOTES

Understand the accommodation category

A chalet, a room, a tented unit and a campsite solve different needs. Confirm beds, bathroom arrangements, catering and who the rate covers. Do not compare one category's photograph with another category's price. At a lodge-and-camp property, the accommodation inventory must also be separated from standalone safari products sold under the same name.

Check the itinerary dependencies

Work out which bookings depend on another part arriving on time. Ask about the response to a delayed flight, changed pickup or cancelled excursion. Confirm the actual meeting point and baggage arrangements. Keep copies of operator instructions available offline and leave practical buffers instead of relying on an unverified journey estimate.

Compare totals and terms together

Use the same dates, guest count, room category and meal plan when comparing services. Read payment, cancellation and change terms before committing, including the currency used for any separate charges. We publish no fixed safari prices or guaranteed availability: the final booking service and the actual provider must confirm both for the selected itinerary.
